📱 Console — Mobile Control Panel

The Console is a lightweight web interface with just the controls — no 3D space scene. Open space.woojinkim.org/console and the cockpit's six monitors plus your account unfold as mobile-friendly tabs: read your status at a glance and fire, align, set a destination, and queue a flight plan — all with your thumbs.

Why a separate page? The 3D cockpit looks great, but on a small phone its buttons are tiny and it leans on the GPU. The console is another window onto the same ship — it draws no 3D, so it's light and built from big, touch-friendly buttons. Commands sync through the server in real time, so what you press here is reflected instantly on any other screen showing the ship.

Two ways to use it

🖥️ + 📱 Like mission control

Put the ship on a big monitor or TV in external or cockpit view to enjoy the scenery, and fly it from the phone in your hand. Watch the screen while you fire and route on the phone — a real mission-control setup.

📱 Phone only

No second screen needed. The console alone lets you read your status (speed, altitude, γ, arrival ETA), fly directly (fire, align, throttle), and queue a flight plan. Perfect for idle-style travel — plot a route on your phone during the commute.

Same ship, carried over. Open it in the same browser and it's automatically the same ship (shared ownership token). On a different device, log in to the same ship (recovery code or passkey) and then open the console — the ship on the big screen and the console on your phone point at one ship. → Login · Ship Backup · Multiview

In practice — reading status and flying directly

The status bar at the top (state · chart · primary body · speed) and the tab bar below it are always present. The 🚀 Cockpit link up top jumps to the 3D cockpit anytime. Below are the ① flight-instruments and ⑤ controls tabs in action.

📊 Flight Instruments (PFD). Name, status, chart, primary body, destination, arrival ETA, time-dilation γ, onboard time, and altitude — read-only, your status at a glance.

🕹 Controls · Ignition. 🔥 Fire, ⬆ prograde / ⬇ retrograde align, and throttle · pitch · yaw · roll sliders for hands-on flying. While docked, a 🚀 Undock button pulses.

Picking a destination & flight plan — route from your phone

On the 🧭 Destination tab, scan with 📡 Radar, search, or pick a body from the by-distance list. On the 🗺 Plan tab, queue that destination as an ➕ Orbit · Swing-by · Land · Rendezvous · Cruise step and the autopilot flies them in turn. Queued steps stack as cards; remove with 🗑 or pause with ⏸.

Console — 🧭 Destination (Nav) tab
🧭 Destination (Nav). 📡 Radar scan · 🔍 search · by-distance destination list (planets, moons, nearby star systems). Tap a body to set it as the destination.
Console — 🗺 Route · Flight Plan tab
🗺 Route · Flight Plan. The set destination (🪐 mars) queued as an ➕ Orbit step — a “1. ▶ mars orbit · 4h 24m” card on the queue. Plot a route on your phone and it flies itself.

The seven tabs

The console's tabs map 1:1 to the cockpit's six monitors plus account. Everything you do in the cockpit, you can do here.

How is it different from the cockpit? The console is controls only — it doesn't draw the 3D scenery of stars, planets, or black holes. Enjoy seeing the universe in the cockpit / external view, and the convenience of flying in the console — best of all, run the two side by side.
